I live in a cute little cottage in Takoma Park MD, just outside of Washington DC. The neighborhood has lots of big old trees, some of which you can see from the screened porch, looking into my forest-like back yard. The neighborhood is a quiet, historic district with big old houses, but located just two blocks from the DC metro. It is a about a half an hour ride into the city. Takoma Park's 'downtown' area has a couple of restaurants, funky artsy stores and a Sunday farmer's market - and it is also just a few blocks away. While the house is only one story, there is a finished basement with a futon couch, as well as the two bedrooms on the main floor. It is comfy and cosy and I have had 6 guests all at once, although a had to put one couple on an inflatable bed in mt large carpeted laundry room!
