An oasis in palacial garden surrounds with enclosed courtyard privacy,Los Establos is situated at the rear of a large property in Mexico's original capital,Tlalpan.5 minutes easy walk both to the local town square (el Zocalo) and its cafes, restaurants, food and craft markets, famous Cantina, galleries and churches: and to public transport to downtown Mexico City. 100 metres from the local equivalent of milk bars with minibuses and taxis passing by the distant front gate. But where we live you wouldn't know you were living in one of the biggest cities in the world.
You can view the encircling mountains from the upstairs balcony that runs outside the double-bed-room-sitter and be out of the metropolitan area in 10 minutes, motoring your way to Cuernavaca, Tepotzlan, Taxco on the nearby freeway that goes to Acapulco.
There are two indoor living spaces that both face on to a Hanging Garden of Babylon courtyard in between, which we use for breakfasts and relaxing with the paper in the sun.
The first is split level, with a bathroom, kitchen/ dining room and study on the ground level, and on the upper level a bedroom (Queens size bed) and TV sitter.
The second, is a ground level studio-massage room with the most peaceful vista onto the garden. It contains a single bed.
We love living here so much that we hardly ever leave, except over Christmas and New Year, when L'Establos is available for rental.
