One bedroom flat (80 m2), tiles floors, 3rd (top) floor (no lift), in a 1920 building. The apartment is composed of: entrance hall – dressing room – study – living room (1 double sofa/ bed + 1 double futon/ bed + hi-fi) - small bedroom (1 double bed) – dining room - bathroom (bathtub) - kitchen (fridge/ gas-oven/ washing machine). No luxury but a clean & cosy atmosphere.
The apartment is well connected to many bus lines: 20 minutes to the airport, 15 minutes to the train & bus station, 20 minutes to northern and southern beaches. The nearest bus hub is 100 metres away. The nearest car&scooter-hiring office is 250 metres away.
There are many shops/ amenities around: bakers, butchers, fruits and vegetables, bars, pizza & restaurants, cinemas. The most important shopping streets and the big everyday market called La Fiera are about 10 minutes walking.
Our neighborhood is called The Borgo. From here you can walk to the main interesting places of the city.
Catania (about 350.000 people) is the 2nd town in Sicily. It has a nice location: placed by the Jonio Sea with northern rocks and southern sandy beaches, but also near (30 minutes by car) to Mount Etna: the huge volcano has a beautiful and various landscape for hiking, picking mushrooms, skiing in winter, taking guided-tours to the top. The town itself offers greece and roman monuments, some baroque architecture, a warm climate (sunny all year long), good restaurants and lots of pubs/ wine bars/ disco for night life.
From Catania it is also possible to leave for one day trips to some of the most interesting places in Sicily: Aci Castello norman castle 5 km, mount Etna volcano (3.300 metres high) 35 km, Taormina 50 km, Alcantara Valley 50 km, Nebrodi Mountains 90 km, Siracusa 80 km, Noto 90 km, Agrigento 170 km, Palermo 200 km.
The nature is great and various: it takes only 1 hour driving from the sunny beaches to the top of mount Etna.
Very important: our 2 cats Baciccia & Poldo don't travel. We ask the exchangers to take care of them. Of course we offer pets and plants care.
We are non-smokers.
We would like an exchange for 1 week duration.
As the living-room can be quickly turned into a 2nd bedroom (for our use), we could/ would also consider hospitality exchange. This way you have the chance to taste Angela's cooking.

We (Angela & Massimo) are an easy going couple with 2 cats. We like cinema, books, music, good foods. Also we enjoy biking, hiking & mushrooms' picking. Angela speaks French perfectly. We also speak English and Spanish. We had 6 great exchanges (all with very kind people).
Destinations: main european towns.
Period: anytime (on a short time notice).
