Help finding cities in our database

Is the Country Correct?		Sometimes web pulldown menus can be accidentally selected and changed
Try this		Make sure the *Country* pulldown menu has the correct country selected

We may include begining or ending parts that differ from how you know the city name.		For example, you try to match a city named Tahoe. There really is no city named Tahoe. Or you enter Tahoe City which is a real city, but not quite like our database knows it. You can use the wildcard character *""** to help find cities.
Try this		For example, enter *tahoe* for the US, and you will match the cities below to choose from South Lake Tahoe Sunnyside-Tahoe City Tahoe Vista

We may not always include begining or ending parts the same as you know the city name.		For example, the city Mexico City is known in our database simply as Mexico.
Try this		For example, if you typed Mexico City and had no matches, try to enter *mexico* and you will match the capital city of Mexico

Enter plain characters instead of *special* characters. For example, to match München, enter Munchen		Many international names contain characters such as ß, á, î, ñ, ü, æ. For example, Munich (in English) is spelled München (auf Deutsch). Although we display names like München, keyboard entry must be in *plain character* equivalents to the international character.
Try this		Enter a name like Munchen not München Do not enter multi-character sequences like Muenchen. The only character that requires 2 character is the German character ß which must be entered as ss

Does the name contain separator characters such as - a dash character a space character ' a quote character		You do not need to enter separator characters in city names such as. For example, Flavigny-et-Beaurain uses a dash ( - ) character Saint Moritz uses a space character 'Afula 'Elit uses both a space and a ' character All of the following variations will match Flavigny-et-Beaurain *Flavigny-et-Beaurain* Flavigny et Beaurain FlavignyetBeaurain
Try this		Don't include spacing characters. Use the simplest form of a name such as FlavignyetBeaurain

Does this city possibly have common parts and variants?		Many city names contain common parts and variants. For example, in France, names contain common parts like Grand, Petit, le, la, or les. The parts may vary by local usage, for example le versus la, some regions reverse the order of some parts. For example Le Badeuil is also called Le Grand Badeuil Le Barial is also called La Barial Flavigny-le-Petit is also called le-Petit Flavigny These common parts and variants exist in many languages, not just French.
Try This		Reverse the order of some variants. For example, FlavignylePetit instead of lePetitFlavigny Use variants (la instead of le) Or to be sure, try the wildcard character "". This character matches any* text. For example, *Barial* will match Le Barial, Le Barial, Les Barial, Le Barial Petit, Le Petite Barial and perhaps many other names. But at least you can find the match you want..

We may not have the city name for this country		We have over several million city names worldwide including cities smaller than populations of 200 people. However, there are some countries with a limited number of cities. Hint - The *Country* pulldown menu shows the number of cities we have for that country. If the search feedback tells you that all city names are listed, look carefully for your city name. Remember, they are alphabetized within States or Provinces. And the city name might be a variant of the name you entered for matching.
Try this		If you still cannot find the city you want, then use our button to *"Add City"* to our database.

There may be an error in our database		The city name could be missing, mispelled or simply spelled differently than expected, or it could be misclassified into another State or Province or even Country.
